Music that matters

Country Couple is a duo of singer-guitarist Niina Huohvanainen and guitarist-singer Sami Huohvanainen, who play both traditional and modern Country.

Although the stories in Country songs are often sad, Country Couple has also chosen to interpret many songs about happy love. Each song has spoken to them in some personal way – they are songs that matter. Country Couple’s show is not all about sentimentality and mood, there’s always some overdriven sound and a faster beat in the set!

The show features Country Couple originals, classics from Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, etc., and some newer hits from acts like Tyler Childers, Jason Isbell, The Highwomen, and Chris Stapleton.

Country Couple released their first single Light My Way in October 2021 and in spring 2023 Country Couple started their own Wednesday Live club in Hard Rock House, Helsinki. A trip to Nashville in January -23, where Country Couple also got to perform, gave them a lot of experience and inspiration for their own songs and performing as a duo. The inspiration has been taken straight from the source!

Country Couple is a semi-acoustic duo. Niina plays acoustic guitar and Sami electric guitar for most of the set.

Niina Huohvanainen is a Country singer from Helsinki and the lead singer of Hilland Playboys, a band that performs at Juttutupa’s Hilland Mondays club. In addition to Country bands, Niina has been the backup guitarist and backing vocalist for one of the most famous Finnish male artists, Arttu Wiskari, since the summer of ’21.

Sami Huohvanainen is a Helsinki-based guitarist and one of the frontmen and songwriters of Southern Fruits.

The Country singer and rock guitarist’s love for each other and for music creates a captivating atmosphere that keeps the audience hooked.
